Debt Recovery Referrals for Insolvency Practitioners

Liquidators and administrators who encounter creditors with outstanding pre-insolvency debts can refer those creditors to Merion — commission-only, no upfront cost.

Why insolvency practitioners refer to Merion

Support for creditors with their own outstanding debtors

When you are administering an insolvent estate, creditors within that estate may themselves be owed money by third parties. Merion can assist those creditors recover their own outstanding accounts — without requiring you to become involved in an unrelated recovery matter.

Third-party creditor support

When a creditor in the insolvent estate has its own outstanding debtors, refer them to Merion. You remain focused on the administration; Merion handles the creditor's separate recovery matter independently.

Commission-only model

Creditors your clients refer to Merion pay nothing unless funds are recovered. There is no upfront cost, no retainer, and no disbursements charged before collection. Commission is deducted from recovered amounts only.

Compliant process

Merion operates under the ACCC/ASIC Debt Collection Guideline. The recovery process is professionally managed — all debtor contact is documented, lawful, and proportionate to the circumstances.

Focused on the commercial

Commercial debt recovery for B2B accounts is Merion's core business. Referrals from insolvency contexts are welcome where the underlying debt is a commercial invoice or trade credit account between businesses.

How referrals work

Simple three-step process

  1. 1

    Identify creditors with outstanding debtors

During administration, identify creditors in the estate who themselves hold overdue commercial accounts. These are candidates for a Merion referral.

  2. 2

Introduce Merion as a recovery option

Refer the creditor to Merion via the referral form or by contacting us directly. You are introducing a recovery option — Merion takes it from there.

  3. 3

    Merion contacts the creditor directly

Merion contacts the creditor and manages the engagement independently. You are not a party to the recovery and have no ongoing obligation in relation to it.
