Strengthen client advisory with debt recovery referrals

When a business client has overdue accounts, the best advice is often to act early. The Merion Partner Programme lets you refer that debt quickly — commission-only, no upfront cost, fully compliant.

Why accountants refer to Merion

Turn aged receivables into an advisory opportunity

Overdue accounts appear on every set of management accounts. Most clients either ignore them or don't know where to turn. You do. Referring those debts to Merion positions your practice as a full-service adviser — and costs your client nothing unless funds are actually recovered.

End-of-quarter receivables review

The BAS cycle and end-of-quarter close are natural moments to review aged debtors. A single conversation can unlock stalled receivables and improve the client's next period cash flow.

No cost to your client

Merion is paid from recovered funds only. Your client does not pay a retainer, an engagement fee, or a fixed charge. If the debt is not recovered, there is no cost.

Relationship-safe referral

Merion conducts all recovery professionally and in compliance with Australian regulations. We represent your client — not your practice — so your advisory relationship is protected.

Integration with advisory

Once a client is registered with Merion, future debts can be lodged in minutes through the client portal. The practice doesn't become the collection agent — you remain the trusted adviser.

How it works

A simple referral process

  1. 1

Identify the debt during your review

During the aged-debtors or end-of-quarter review, flag accounts that have been outstanding for 30 days or more. These are the debts most likely to benefit from early referral.

  2. 2

    Complete the online referral form

Use the referral form to submit the basic details — your client's name, the debtor, and the amount. It takes two minutes. Alternatively, register your practice as a partner first via the partner registration form.

  3. 3

    Merion handles recovery

A Merion specialist assesses the account and begins recovery. You and your client are kept informed throughout. The portal gives you real-time visibility.
