Portfolio Assessment and Referral for Debt Buyers

Debt buyers who acquire portfolios of B2B commercial receivables can refer those portfolios to Merion for commission-only recovery. Merion's focus is commercial debt — not consumer portfolios.

Commercial portfolio recovery

B2B receivables: assessment and recovery on commission

Merion focuses exclusively on commercial (B2B) debt recovery — trade credit, commercial invoices, and B2B accounts receivable. If you have acquired a portfolio of commercial accounts that requires recovery, contact Merion to discuss the options.

Commercial portfolio focus

B2B accounts, commercial invoices, and trade credit are Merion's core business. Consumer portfolios are handled differently and are outside Merion's standard programme — contact Merion to discuss the specific portfolio before referring.

Commission-only

There is no upfront processing fee. Merion is paid from collected funds — the commission is agreed at the point of intake and deducted from recoveries. Nothing is payable if no funds are recovered.

Compliant

Merion operates under the ACCC/ASIC Debt Collection Guideline. Consumer debts — even within a mixed portfolio — are handled under the specific obligations that apply to consumer accounts and must be disclosed upfront.

Selective intake — portfolio assessed first

Merion will assess the portfolio and advise on likely recovery before commencing. Not all portfolios will be accepted. Age, documentation quality, and debtor profile all affect recovery likelihood — Merion will be direct about the outlook.

How portfolio referral works

From submission to recovery

  1. 1

    Submit portfolio details

Contact Merion directly to discuss your portfolio before completing any form. Portfolio assessments require a conversation — the referral form is for individual accounts, not bulk portfolios.

  2. 2

    Merion assesses the portfolio

Merion reviews the portfolio composition — account age, documentation, debtor profile, and jurisdiction — and advises on likely recovery and the commission terms that apply.

  3. 3

    Terms agreed and recovery commences

Once terms are agreed, Merion commences recovery on the accepted accounts. Collected funds are remitted net of commission on a schedule agreed at intake.
